I think they get harder the more you get them. However, the very first one I did was no harder than a guild quest to defeat 2 armies. I've been testing various things with these, "defeat this large army" daily challenges and so far, it's the toughest part of a daily challenge I've encountered. According to my boost overview, my attacking units have 51% attack and 21% defense. So I'm hanging out in the Colonial age for awhile. Personally, I'd be happy without the time limit but perhaps that's not enough of a challenge. Here the player can come back to finish the remaining army but has to do so within a given time limit or the army resets and the player has to start from scratch all over again. I propose that this quest type, the standard one-shot-to-win version, be changed to a beat-down version for the DQ. It may not be fair or accurate, but it's how I feel based on what I understand of the game so far. Having to spend diamonds to finish a DQ seems wrong to me, but since there are so many people out there who are willing to do so regardless of how much they complain, perhaps Inno doesn't mind leaving it like that. Every DQ I've encountered so far was doable, though it might mean being able to start on it from the moment it comes available in order for me to hope to finish it. The size of the army is not really an issue for me. Some people in that thread commented on how this quest is not based on when we enter an age as we get the same result when we encounter neighbors.

I saw that I'm not the first to complain about it but it's strange to me that there's only one thread specifically referring to quest type.

While I enjoy the game and will fight when a quest requires it, this is unusually excessive. I've been playing for a several months now and it's only recently that encountered the DQ challenging me to defeat a large army or a very large army.
